Megan, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, began her tax and accounting career with Thimons, Lunardi & Associates shortly after graduation. After working full time for Thimons, Lunardi & Associates for over four years, her husband’s job relocated them to Columbus, OH. While in Columbus, she took a job as the senior staff accountant for a start up company in the environmental consulting industry. While working full time for the start-up company, she started a side business focusing on small business accounting and tax preparation for individuals and businesses. In the fall of 2017, discussions to acquire Thimons, Lunardi & Associates began as the previous owners, Ted, Ron and Carol planned to retire. Megan purchased the business in January 2019 and renamed the practice Burns, Sweeney & Associates. She currently lives in Hampton Township with her husband and English Labradors, Bodhi and Lella. She enjoys traveling with her husband and family, skiing, Pilates and cooking.

Brian began his employment with BSA Tax the summer of 2019. In 2020, Brian was named a partner at Burns, Sweeney & Associates. He is a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Brian has a wide knowledge of corporate finance and accounting having held management positions for the last ten years with large regional and international corporations in the retail and manufacturing industries. Brian’s experience also includes working for a top 100 regional firm that focused on client audits in the manufacturing, technology and professional service industries located in Washington D.C. Brian currently lives in Ross Township with his wife and three daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and golf.

Melanie, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, holds a degree in finance and began her accounting career with a local firm focusing on individual tax preparation. Melanie obtained auditing experience while employed by a large regional public accounting firm focusing on clients within the manufacturing, construction, and non-profit industries. Most recently, Melanie held a position as a senior corporate accountant for an international industrial manufacturing company in the Pittsburgh area. Melanie lives in the North Hills area with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys hanging out with family and working out.

Ellen has been working for BSA Tax since September 2018. She is a graduate of La Roche University where she earned her Bachelor’s in Accounting and Business Administration. Also trained in tax preparation, Ellen enjoys working with clients to prepare their tax returns. Prior to joining the firm, Ellen worked at Sunrise Senior Living as a CNA and primary care manager. She lives in the North Hills area and enjoys kayaking, cooking, and snuggles with her dog Wilson.

Linda began working for BSA Tax in October 2020. She holds an MBA from American Public University System, with an undergraduate degree in physics from Carnegie Mellon University. She has a broad range of experiences, having worked in public accounting as well as private industry, including manufacturing, non-profit, retail, and transportation companies. Linda lives near McConnells Mill with her husband and pets. She has three grown daughters and five grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys playing computer games, watching old movies, and reading.

Molly joined the BSA staff in 2021. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in Music and Business, and moved to Pittsburgh to expand her horizons. Molly has worked in music, restaurants, and as a stress management coach. Customer service is her favorite part – helping meet needs and find creative solutions. When she’s not working, Molly is usually gardening, eating really fantastic food, or watching the wildlife interactions in her yard.
